Marienburg Castle is a well-known historic castle complex, built from 1858 to 1869 by King George V. of Hanover as his summer retreat, hunting castle, and later as the dower house of his wife. It's situated on top of the "Marienberg", a hill southwest from Schulenburg, a part of Pattensen, a little town next to Hanover.
