The region of Hanover offers a widespread bunch of options for cultural and sports activities. Have a look upon a choice to a limited extent for our guests. Please take account of the daily updated informations you'll find in the Internet and those we keep on hand in the form of flyers or posters available at our reception. HSV 96: The Hanoverian Sports Club founded in 1896 is generally known as "Hannover 96" and it's the biggest sports club in Hanover, especially well known by its football players. The football team of the second division plays in the native "Niedersachsen-Stadion" ("Lower Saxony Stadium").

The SPRENGEL MUSEUM HANOVER is designated to present the international art world of the 20th and 21st century. The building features a sober, modern design and is situated next to the northbank of the "Maschsee", a shallow regatta lake behind the townhall of Hanover. Focussing the German Expressionism and the French Moderne it ranks among the most important museums of art of the 20th century and contemporary art as well.

The Herrenhaeuser Gardens in Hanover build a cluster of the "Great Garden", the "Berggarten", the "Georgen Garden" and the "Welfen Garden" in the city district of Hanover-Herrenhausen. The "Great Garden" ranks about the most important Baroque gardens in Europe and it's the historic heart of Herrenhaeuser Gardens.

The Hanover Zoo encloses a territory of 22 acres. In 2020, the location shelters about 2150 animals of 181 species. The conventional presentation of animals in a zoo had been abandoned in favour of preferring semi-natural habitats since the end of the 20th century with a view to approaching EXPO 2000 in Hanover. Thereby seven topic areas emerged, based on the genuine habitat and the cultural environment from where these animals originate. Visitors can encounter the presented animals grateless but these are just as well able to withdraw into peacable parts of their enclosures.

In the south of Hanover Region near Springe the "Wisentgehege Springe" (European-bison park) shows 109 species of animals typical of the region. It is an area of 90 acres between the villages of Eldagsen and Springe. The animals are kept in their familiar habitat with oak woods, beech woods, alder swamp forests, ponds, meadows, and creeks. The area is called "Saupark Springe" because of its beginning as an animal park for boars. In the proximity there is the uplands region called "Deister"; here you have the opportunity to undertake extensive hikes through a wooded hillscape with beautiful views over the flatter landscape.

"Herrenhaeuser" is a private brewery in Hanover-Herrenhausen. Established in 1868 and now owned by the family Schulz-Hausbrandt, "Herrenhaeuser" is the best known Hanoverian beer of today. Beer enthusiasts simply call it "Herri" and everybody knows what that means. On the logo of this brand you find a rearing pretty white horse on red background – the well-known "Niedersachsenross" (emblem horse of Lower Saxony).

Marienburg Castle is a well-known historic castle complex, built from 1858 to 1869 by King George V. of Hanover as his summer retreat, hunting castle, and later as the dower house of his wife. It's situated on top of the "Marienberg", a hill southwest from Schulenburg, a part of Pattensen, a little town next to Hanover.

"Die Recken" (valiant heros) is the handball national league of TSV Burgdorf sports club and member of the North German Handball Association. Especially their handball team for gents is well-known: since the 2009/2010 season, they are a constituent part of the "First Handball Bundesliga".
